ZTE Axon 7 mini Now Available for Preorder in the US for Just $299.98

At the beginning of last month, ZTE announced the Axon 7 mini, the cheaper variant of the ever-so-popular Axon 7. With slimmed down specs and a few takeaways, the mini does make for a pretty good alternative to the standard 7 since it’s $100 cheaper and still houses speedy and well-performing specs (you know, at least on paper). Russia, Germany, Spain, Poland, Japan, Australia, India and Saudi Arabia were the first territories to get the handset, and now it’s the USA’s turn as ZTE has finally announced preorders for the mini here in the States.

Amazon, B&H, Best Buy, NewEgg, and ZTE’s online store will all carry the Axon 7 mini, while $299.98 is all you’ll have to pay for the handset unlocked. This is (as aforementioned) $100 cheaper than the $399.98 Axon 7, so you’re certainly saving some cash when opting for this model over the bigger one. A rundown of some of the specs featured in the mini can be found below.

  • 5.2-inch 1080p display
  • Snapdragon 617 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16MP & 8MP front and rear cameras
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
  • 2750mAh battery

For comparison, the standard Axon 7 has a 5.5-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, a 20MP rear camera, and a 3250mAh battery alongside a custom DAC and Google Daydream support. If you’re one for high-end specs under $400, the standard 7 may be better for you. Otherwise, save some moolah and pick up the Axon 7 mini.
