Google has announced it’s making YouTube Premium and YouTube Music subscriptions cheaper for students. Starting today, eligible university and college students in the United States can sign up for either service for $6.99/month or $4.99/month, respectively. This slashes the normal cost of either subscription in half, with Premium usually selling for $12.99/month and Music going for $9.99/month. This puts both services more in line with what other companies like Apple and Spotify offer students looking to save a few bucks every month.
You can sign up for a YouTube Premium student plan here and a YouTube Music student plan here. Those who enroll in the former before January 31st, 2019, can pay $5.99/month and save an extra dollar.
