Pandora has announced subscribers of its Pandora Premium streaming service can now listen to their music through an Amazon Echo device or Alexa-enabled speaker. Those on Tidal can also do so as the service announced last week. Both streaming platforms add to the list of services Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant can control, falling right beside Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music Unlimited.
For Pandora Premium subscribers, you’ll now be able to take full advantage of your subscription rather just radio playback like before. But for Tidal subscribers, you’ll be limited in how much you can do with an Echo or Alexa-enabled device. Unless the device you choose to play music on supports specific hardware, you likely won’t be able to listen to hi-fi audio, essentially the main reason anyone would subscribe to Tidal in the first place. Still, though, you’ll be able to access your entire music collection such as songs, albums, and playlists which wasn’t possible before.
Both Tidal and Pandora Premium support should be rolling out to all Alexa users now.
