On Friday, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile Build 10586.29 Insider Preview to all Windows Insiders. The previous build had a number of 10586.11.
Microsoft has stated that this build is focused mainly on user feedback, so in other words, bug fixes. Lots of people were complaint about the last build and how many bugs it had, so let’s hope they ironed out most of them in this new build.
The new build supports four new phones:
- Microsoft Lumia 550
- Microsoft Lumia 950
- Microsoft Lumia 950 XL
- LG Lancet
This doesn’t come as a shock due to Microsoft adding support for the LG Lancet in the Windows Device Recovery Tool just over a month ago and the fact that more and more people are being granted access (by their wallets) to the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. And c’mon, who doesn’t have a 550 lying around?
Microsoft has also released some notes about the new build and states what’s new and what they’ve noticed to be fixed:
- You will see additional improvements in upgrade experience, including devices with limited free space, map rendering on update, and RCS enabled device settings.
- Improved application backwards compatibility for Windows Phone 8.1 Silverlight applications.
- Edge performance and stability has been improved. Auto-completion has been updated to allow user to more easily edit the end of the URL in the address bar.
- Additional Bluetooth stability improvements.
- We have resolve issues on switching the active cellular connectivity profile on Dual SIM devices.
- Data profiles are now correctly restored in the out of box experience that would prevent some devices from sending or receiving MMS messages.
