Verizon is gearing up to gift those subscribed to its higher-end unlimited plans a free membership to Apple Music, according to a new report out of 9to5Mac who quotes a reliable source. Marketing material the publication saw confirms those subscribed to Verizon’s Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited plans will get Apple Music for free. Meanwhile, those on the Go Unlimited plan will only get a six-month free trial of the service.
Up until this point, Verizon customers have only been able to take advantage of a free six-month trial of Apple Music as a part of their subscription. But moving forward, Verizon will include the service as a perk for subscribing to its network. It’s similar to how T-Mobile gives Metro subscribers a free membership to Amazon Prime and Google One. This will also mark the first time a carrier has included a free subscription to Apple’s Spotify competitor.
The new promotion will be available to both iOS and Android users. Verizon has yet to formally announce the news, but since it’s already leaking out, we probably don’t have much longer to wait.
