tvOS 9.2.2 Gets Third Beta, Now Out for Devs’ Testing

Apple hasn’t forgotten about tvOS in today’s lineup of new betas (iOS 9.3.3, OS X 10.11.6). Build 3 of the upcoming 9.2.2 update for the Apple TV has begun rolling out to developers for testing purposes which, by the way, doesn’t include anything new.

Okay, so that statement is technically incorrect. While there aren’t any new user-facing changes, there are in fact bug fixes, speed improvements, and security enhancements in tvOS 9.2.2 beta 3. But that’s it. So if you want new features you’ll be able to take advantage of as a user, like a new dark mode or single sign-on capabilities, feel free to explore the developer preview of tvOS 10. Otherwise, you’re gonna be stuck with tvOS 9.2.2 and bug fixes until fall when the tenth version of the OS is released.

We’ll let you know if there’s anything notably new in tvOS 9.2.2 beta 3.
