Following the releases of the first builds of iOS 9.3.3 and OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, Apple has seeded developers with the first beta of tvOS 9.2.2 for testing on their Apple TVs. Much like recent tvOS updates, this beta promises simple bug fixes and speed improvements to the hardware it’s assigned to.
Apple seems to be pretty confident in this beta. As Neowin notes, the company has promised exactly zero known issues in this build. That’s rather interesting to see in the first build of a software update. I guess we’ve had so many tvOS updates over the past 6 months that practically all bugs have been ironed out of the software. I don’t know, that’s just a theory.
We’ll update this post if anything notable is found in the new software for the Apple TV.
