After unveiling the vehicle last night at an event, Tesla today opened preorders for its new Model Y SUV. The vehicle will start at $47,000 out the gate as the company will be following in the Model 3’s footsteps by selling the more expensive trims at first. The $39,000 SUV will be available to preorder at a later date.
According to Tesla, the Model Y will be available in three trims at launch: the Long Range, the Dual Motor AWD, and the Performance. Respectively, they’ll cost $47,000, $51,000, and $60,000. All three will launch in the fall of 2020. However, considering the company’s reputation, you might have to wait longer than that if/when delays occur.
For those of you who can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Model Y, you can place your preorder here.
