This morning, Apple and Target announced the former’s mobile payment system, Apple Pay, would be coming to the latter’s 1,850 stores across the U.S. beginning today. Inside Target’s press release, the major retailer also confirms it’ll be adding compatibility for both Google Pay and Samsung Pay in the future. The retailer will also support contactless payments from Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.
Unfortunately, Target doesn’t provide much more information than that. However, they did say Apple Pay is starting to roll out today, so that could mean these same upgraded credit card terminals will also carry Google Pay and Samsung Pay compatibility. Stay tuned for follow-ups because there’s bound to be at least one in this regard.
