Sony Xperia Z5 & Z5 Compact Are on Their Way to the U.S.

Sony has announced that their newest flagships, the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact, are on their way to the U.S.  This confirmation from Sony comes after almost 3 months from the official launch of the smartphones in the U.K.

The phones will be available for purchase on February 7th unlocked for $599.99 and $499.99 respectively. This move could help Sony stop with their constant struggling in the smartphone market, what with their marketing as poor as it is and the limited availability across the globe. There hasn’t been any mention of Sony bringing the Xperia Z5 Premium (a smartphone with a 4K display) to the U.S. as of yet.

As a quick refresher, the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact are powered by a Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM and offer a 23MP rear cam, 5.1MP front cam, 32GB onboard storage, microSD, and waterproofing technology. Where they differ is in screen size and battery, with the Z5 packing a 5.2-inch 1080p display with a 2900 mAh battery. In contrast, the Z5 Compact has a 4.6-inch 720p display and a 2700 mAh battery.

It’s going to be interesting how many more sales Sony gets from their new smartphones becoming available in the U.S. After all, it’s not like these phones have never made it across the border. Donald Trump isn’t president yet, okay?
