Samsung recently released the Galaxy A9 (2016) which has a hefty 4,000mAh battery. Rumors have swirled around ever so slightly that there would be a “Pro” version of this phone. Well, it looks like these reports were true, because today, Samsung unleashed the Galaxy A9 Pro alongside the specs of it… and this one’s got a 5,000mAh battery.
This phone will no doubt get users through a full day’s use with it’s giant battery. Smartphone makers tend to add big batteries inside their handsets, however it’s a rare occasion we get a battery of anywhere this size.
Other specs of the Galaxy A9 Pro include a 6-inch full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED display, a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera, 32GB of storage, an embedded fingerprint scanner in the home button, and Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. For reference, the Galaxy A9 (2016) only has 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear camera, and a 4,000mAh battery as previously mentioned.
The new A9 Pro will come in White, Pink, and Rose Gold and will retail for 3,499 Yuan (roughly $540). The regular A9 retails for a slightly lower 3,199 Yuan (around $487).
Right now, the Galaxy A9 Pro is set to launch in only China, which makes sense since Samsung’s A-seires phone lineup normally is only available in that country. We will, however, let you know if the company decides to launch it in other territories.
