Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Now Come in ‘Sunrise Gold’ and ‘Burgundy Red’

Samsung has introduced two new color options for its flagship Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus smartphones. Known as “Sunrise Gold” and “Burgundy Red,” both finishes add to the list of colors already available including Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple.

As is the case for many a new phone color, Samsung has a pretty eccentric description for both finishes of the S9 that are definitely worth reading.

The Sunrise Gold edition for Galaxy S9 and S9+ is Samsung’s first device to feature a satin gloss finish which wraps the smartphone in a tranquil glow and glimmer. The new Sunrise Gold color creates a feeling of both vibrancy and calm. This sophisticated finish was developed to appeal to all users by bringing a stylistic touch of high fashion and urban interior design to a user’s mobile device. The Burgundy Red edition is one of the deepest red colors available featuring restrained gloss for added density and a look that is contemporary and traditional – perfect for users who appreciate luxurious design.

If that doesn’t convince you to buy either of these new colors, I don’t know what will.

Unfortunately, if you live in the US, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to get either a gold or red S9 any time soon. According to Samsung, the Burgundy Red finish will launch in Korea and China, while the Sunrise Gold will launch in Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. The company does note additional markets will be added to the gold color’s list, but it isn’t clear yet if the US could be added. Looks like we’ll need to wait this one out.
