Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 9 smartphone will be unveiled on August 9th, according to a new report out of Bloomberg. The company will host an Unpacked event in New York where they’ll take the wraps off the device that will supposedly land on the market at the end of August.
According to the report, the Note 9 will look similar to last year’s Note 8 and feature a new Qualcomm processor. Currently, it isn’t known what processor that will be, but we can assume it’s the Snapdragon 845 that we’re seeing in a lot of flagship Android devices nowadays, including the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. The phone will also come with an upgraded camera, although it’s unclear how the system has been improved.
By launching the Note 9 before September begins, Samsung will likely have an edge on the rest of the competition. Apple’s new iPhones for this year won’t launch until around the middle of September while Google’s next Pixel phones will land in October. Therefore, the Korean giant will have a chance to score early buyers before more device options become available.
Expect plenty more on the Galaxy Note 9 throughout the summer as we edge closer and closer to the August 9th announcement date.
