Samsung is gearing up to host a big NYC-based event on August 7th to announce the Galaxy Note 10. That’s according to a new report out of CNET which also claims the event will occur at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Samsung will show off its Galaxy Note 10 during a flashy Unpacked event on Aug. 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. The venue is the same place the South Korean technology giant launched the Note 9 last year.
CNET doesn’t go into detail about how it got this information, but it does line up with expectations. Samsung, historically, has unveiled the next-gen Note in early August, so to see a similar event happen in that time frame wouldn’t be surprising. I would go so far as to say you can probably bet this is the actual date. It won’t be long until we know for sure, after all.
So far, there haven’t been an absolute ton of leaks like other phones (lookin’ at you, Google Pixel), but there have been a number of significant reports that have surfaced and hinted at what we can expect from Samsung in regards to the Note 10. For one, the device will likely ship in two sizes, with the largest featuring a 6.75-inch AMOLED display. Neither phone will come with Samsung’s hole-punch corner notch. Instead, the hole-punch will be front and center. There will also likely be three or four cameras on the back, a Snapdragon 855 under the hood, up to 12GB of RAM, and potentially 45W charging capabilities.
