Last month was supposed to be the month that the first foldable smartphone went on sale. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Samsung’s Galaxy Fold was pegged with display issues by reviewers, and we still aren’t sure what was wrong with it in the first place. And it doesn’t look like Samsung knows either, as the company will begin canceling pre-orders for the phone under a couple of conditions.
If you have placed a pre-order for the Galaxy Fold, your order will be canceled unless you contact Samsung and request that your order remain safe. Similarly, if the company manages to ship the Galaxy Fold by May 31st, everyone’s orders will be fulfilled. But if you don’t talk to Samsung first and the company doesn’t ship the device by the end of the month, you’ll have to pre-order the phone again once it goes on sale. The news was shared in an email sent to those that pre-ordered the phone.
Right now, there’s a ton of uncertainty surrounding the Galaxy Fold and whether it’ll actually ship. If we get any new information, we’ll be sure to let you know.
