Samsung Galaxy S10 5G Launches May 16th, Preorders Now Open

After an initial unveiling in February, Samsung has finally made the Galaxy S10 5G available for preorder through Verizon. The red carrier will receive S10 5G exclusivity early in its lifecycle, with more retailers jumping on board in the future.

According to Verizon, the Galaxy S10 5G with 256GB of storage will run $1,299, or $54.16 per month on a 24-month payment plan. Meanwhile, the phone with 512GB of storage will run a whopping $1,599, or $58.33 on a 24-month payment plan. Either way you look at it, the S10 5G is a pricey phone, albeit not as pricey as Samsung’s foldable offering.

To sweeten the deal, Verizon will be offering some perks alongside the Galaxy S10 5G. If you preorder the phone, Verizon will give you a free set of wireless Galaxy Buds and a Samsung-branded wireless charging battery pack. If you trade in your current phone for an S10 5G, Verizon will also give you up to $450. In addition, those who switch to Verizon can get a $200 prepaid Mastercard if they purchase an S10 5G on a device payment plan and sign up for Verizon Unlimited.

Verizon says the Galaxy S10 5G will launch on May 16th in Crown Silver and the carrier’s exclusive Majestic Black finish.

In addition to today’s preorder launch, Verizon also says its 5G network will be available in 20 new cities during 2019. This includes Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, Providence, San Diego, Salt Lake City and Washington DC.
