Samsung recently confirmed it would be delaying the release of its first foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold. The company said a new release date would be announced in the coming weeks, but the Korean giant has a lot of investigating to do since they need to debunk what happened to everyone’s review units before it can even think about shipping it to customers.
But while Samsung holds off from announcing anything, it appears AT&T may already be gearing up to launch the Galaxy Fold itself. Customers who have preordered the Fold through the carrier have begun receiving emails about new shipping dates, and the same one that’s popped up for basically everyone is June 13th.
Full disclosure: this might be nothing more than a placeholder. AT&T needs to mark something as the potential ship date for the Galaxy Fold, and picking June 13th gives them a pretty good amount of time to figure things out and get the phone ready to ship. But we’re extremely skeptical about this date. Not only has Samsung not commented on this news, but even AT&T isn’t saying anything yet. Because of this, you’ll want to take today’s news with a grain of salt.
That being said, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as far as when more information surfaces regarding the eventual release of this device.
