Today, Samsung has announced two new smartphones part of their Galaxy J series: the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5. Both phones sport Super AMOLED displays and are more on the mid-range side when comparing the specifications of both of these handsets and the company’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge which are currently their flagships.
The Galaxy J7 is the superior of the duo (think of it as the Batman, if you will) with it packing in a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD display with an octa-core 1.6GHz Exynos processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage via microSD card, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with both sporting f/1.9 aperture and 1080p video recording, and a 3300mAh battery, all this loaded inside an all-metal body that measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.8mm and weighs 170g.
The Galaxy J5 (the Robin of the two) also packs similar heat, however is a little less powerful, with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED 720p display, 2GB of RAM, and a 3100mAh battery. However, the J5 sports the same cameras, storage options, and processor the J7 does, however is thicker at 8.1mm. But this shouldn’t be problem to most people and most likely won’t be noticed.
The new Galaxy J7 and J5 come in three colors: sand gold, silver/white, and metallic pink and will be available in China from today. It’s unclear whether the phones will make it to international markets, but if they do, we’ll let you know.
