Palm Phone is Now Available Unlocked for $349

Palm is in an interesting place. It was a major smartphone competitor more than a decade ago who also paved the way for gestural navigation, and now it’s the company that makes one of the tiniest Android devices on the market. Instead of steering away from that path, Palm is sticking to its guns by launching sales of an unlocked Palm Phone.

When the Palm Phone originally debuted, it was targeted as a phone extension that was only available through Verizon. It’s essentially the phone version of an Apple Watch in which it has very limited functionality but gives you access to texts and phone calls if you want to leave your main phone at home. Now, regardless of your carrier, you can buy the Palm Phone and pair it to your main phone for the times you don’t wanna be distracted by a giant screen in your pocket.

Notably, Palm says the device only works on GSM carriers like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS. It doesn’t work on Sprint which uses CDMA.

According to Palm, the phone is available for pre-order starting today. It plans to start shipping orders in six to eight weeks.
