OnePlus will unveil the new OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro at an event on May 14th, and today, we’re learning what the latter might cost when it launches. Ishan Argwal (via Android Central) today is reporting that the new OnePlus 7 Pro will cost €749 in Europe. This will get you 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. A model with identical storage and 12GB of RAM will cost €819, according to the report.
If you’ve been following OnePlus since back in the day, you know that this is a major move for the company. OnePlus has, historically, offered phones with flagship specs for mid-range prices. Now, however, the company will compete directly against big players like Samsung, Apple, and Google in the premium-priced smartphone division. Because of this, it’s critical for OnePlus to stand out among the crowd and offer a true flagship competitor that can’t be forgiven for shortcomings on behalf of its price.
In the U.S., OnePlus typically lines up its pricing with its phones costs overseas. That means we can likely expect the OnePlus 7 Pro to cost somewhere around $749 in the States. That would place the phone directly up against the iPhone XR and Galaxy S10e. Hopefully, OnePlus brings enough to the table to justify its device as a solid alternative.
Right now, we’re unsure as to what the baseline OnePlus 7 will cost, but we’ll let you know if we get that information in.
