OnePlus 2 Now Receiving OxygenOS 2.2.1 – Here’s What’s New

OnePlus has announced on their forums that they have begun rolling out an update for the OnePlus 2 called OxygenOS 2.2.1. This update will be very welcome amongst customers as it adds support to the “flagship killer” for RAW photos taken with the built-in camera.

RAW images allow for better contrast, color, brightness, sharpness, and pretty much every other aspect of a photo which is very pleasing as the camera phone is one big player in everyone’s lives. Now that RAW is supported by the OnePlus 2, 2015’s flagship from OnePlus just became a lot more appealing.

There are also a bunch of other improvements found in the latest update for OxygenOS on the OP2. Here’s a rundown of all of them:

  • RAW support in OnePlus Camera
  • Bluetooth compatibility improvement
  • Ultra SIM compatibility improvement
  • GMS 3.0 upgrade
  • Improvement for roaming issues
  • Fix for occasional image corruption issue in OnePlus Camera
  • Security patch update
  • Romanian language support

OnePlus doesn’t seem to state how big the update is, but since it’s not the upgrade that brings Marshmallow to the OP2, we expect it not to weigh that much. The update should be reaching everyone within a couple of weeks, but if you don’t see anything yet, you can always manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates.
