Motorola has confirmed to Matridox it’s beginning to roll out Andorid Pie to two mid-range phones: the Motorola One and the Moto X4. What’s more, both upgrades are being seeded to users in the United States.
For both phones, you get the normal array of Pie features such as a new navigation system, a new recent app viewer, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, better battery life, a redesigned Quick Settings UI, simplified volume controls, easier notification management, and more. With the Motorola One, all of these features arrive thanks to the Android One upgrade program which guarantees faster updates and regular security patches. For the Moto X4, well, users have been waiting for quite some time just to get a simple OS upgrade.
That’s not to say there isn’t anything special about the Android Pie upgrade for the X4. In fact, Motorola tells us the X4 will be getting an upgrade to the Alexa Hands-Free experience, allowing users to access features like calling, messaging, navigation, and more all just by using their voice. The feature will roll out by the end of the year, according to the company.
Owners of both devices can expect Android Pie to reach them starting this week.
