Motorola Confirms it Isn’t Making a Moto Z3 Force

Just yesterday, Motorola unveiled its latest entry in the Z lineup: the Moto Z3. To the surprise of many, the device was found to ship with a 6-inch 1080p 18:9 display, a Snapdragon 835, a 3,000mAh battery, and a price tag of $480. To many, this might sound like something from last year that Moto is just discounting to promote the new 5G Moto Mod exclusive to Verizon. And if you thought there’d be a newer, more flagship-worth device in the future such as a Moto Z3 Force, you’d be wrong.

As confirmed on Twitter and by many news outlets such as Neowin, Moto says it won’t be making any more Z3 devices this year. While this is disappointing to say the least, it leaves us with a lot of questions, such as why the company didn’t just go with a Snapdragon 845 or why it chose a 1080p panel instead of Quad HD. These queries and more will likely never be answered.

That all being said, what you pay for to get a Z3 in your hands isn’t too shabby. It’s just $20/month as long as you’re okay with buying through Verizon (it’s the exclusive retail partner of the device, after all). Yeah, sure you aren’t getting the latest and greatest hardware on the market, but at least you won’t have to pay more than $500 for the phone.

Side note: the Z3 is actually $20 cheaper than the Z3 Play, making this device the better buy by far.
