Phone leaks are some of the most extensive on the web (don’t fact check me, I’m making a guess here), and we’ve seen proof of that in recent memory with the Google Pixel 3 and 3a. But Motorola may deserve a spot as one of the worst secret keepers in the smartphone industry since not only did its new phone accidentally go up for sale, someone bought it and it was shipped to him.
I’m talking about Motorola’s new Moto Z4 which hasn’t even been announced yet. But somehow, Amazon edition of the phone went up for sale by accident, and someone bought it. Not only did they buy it, but it also shipped. It wasn’t held by the carrier either, which is even stranger.
Regardless, the phone is now in the hands of an enthusiast who has uploaded an unboxing/hands-on video and multiple sample photographs to Google Drive.
First off, we now know all the specs. The Moto Z4 will come with a 6.4-inch OLED 2340×1080 display, an in-display fingerprint reader, a Snapdragon 675, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It also comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box along with a 48MP main and 12MP secondary lens combo on the back. On the front housed inside a notch sits a 25MP selfie camera.
I haven’t gone hands-on with the phone myself so I can’t say whether the cameras are actually good, but at least a few of these sample images seem decent. This phone is gonna sell for $499.99 if the Amazon-exclusive model’s price tag is anything to go by, so mid-range results from the sensor should be expected anyway. You should also expect half-decent performance thanks to the 675 and 4GB of RAM.
