Via the French news site NoWhereElse.fr, we’ve now gotten our hands on the upcoming Moto M’s press shots that seem to confirm practically everything there is to know about the phone. The design appears the same as originally anticipated, the specs are ones you’d expect from a handset like this, and the release date seems to be confirmed as well.
For starters, the Moto M features a fully-metal body with glass (obviously) covering the front. Speaking of the front, there’s a 5.5-inch FHD display mounted to this section of the phone alongside an 8MP camera , while on the rear there’s a 16MP camera with phase detection autofocus. Inside the M is an octa-core 2.2GHz Helio P15 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage via microSD card, a 3050mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor (something new to the Moto lineup), Android Marshmallow likely with Lenovo’s skin, and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. Of course, these specs aren’t confirmed by any means, but they do look promising nonetheless.
Price wise, the leaked press shots seem to indicate that the Moto M will come in at €265 (about $295.15). This is by no means expensive for what you’re getting and may be a good alternative to the recently launched Moto Z Play. The only main difference between these two devices is that the latter phone supports Moto Mods while the former reportedly won’t (it’s rather obvious, however, this is the case since the back of the M is rounded and houses the fingerprint sensor).
Supposedly, the handset will be available starting November 8th, so we’ve only got four days until we officially see whether this handset is real. But by the looks of it, this is probably a safe bet to make. (It’s worth noting that exact availability by region isn’t currently known, but if that 11-08 date is real, we’ve only got 96 hours until we find out more.)
