Motorola has begun rolling out the official Android Marshmallow update to the Moto E 2015. The company has decided to start in India and make their way to other countries as the OEMs are built.
The build number of the new software upgrade, which is Android 6.0 by the way, is 24.51.39.en.03. The update weighs 453.9MB and should be downloaded over Wi-Fi for protection against data over charges.
Within the update, you’ll find all of Marshmallow’s latest and greatest features, like Now on Tap, Doze mode, and better app management, along with the February security patch.

As a precaution, this update has so far made it’s way to 4G LTE versions of the Moto E 2015. This model of the very popular smartphone includes a Snapdragon 410 processor, opposed to the Snapdragon 200 found in the 3G model of the Moto E 2015. The 4G LTE model of the device was sold in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia (excluding China), while the 3G model was sold, among other places, in the United States. If you have a 4G LTE model, expect the update within the coming weeks to reach your device. However, if you have 3G, you’re out of luck, as Motorola doesn’t have any plans of giving you guys Marshmallow any time soon.
To manual check for the update, head to Settings > About Phone, though it may take a few days until the rollout hits all devices.
