Microsoft has begun to push out a new firmware update to their two newest flagship devices, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The build number is 01078.00038.16025.390xx and can be downloaded by going to Settings > Update & security > Phone update > Check for updates.
Key fixes and improvements include:
- Stability fixes.
- Improvements for GPS reliability.
- Improvements for call audio quality.
So after looking at the above, you can tell that there’s not much to look for in the new build, but it is welcome. Anything to patch up at least some of Windows 10’s major bugs.
Microsoft has stated in a support community entry that the update is rolling out to both unlocked and locked 950s, depending on your location and service. Being patient is the best thing you can do at this point.
The availability of this update may depend on your phone model, region or network service provider. At the time of writing this post, the update is available mainly for selected open market variants, but the rollouts should continue gradually during the coming days and weeks.
