Meizu, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched a new handset called the m3 which precedes last year’s m2. The m3 is considered an entry-level phone, however boasts some pretty impressive specifications for it’s $92.
The m3 sports a 5-inch 720p display with slightly curved 2.5D glass so sliding in and out of menus is nice and smooth, an octa-core MT6750 processor with a Cortex-A53 CPU over the old quad-core MT6735 found in the m2, a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, two storage configurations with one being 16GB of space and 2GB of RAM and the other granting users 32GB of storage and 3GB of RAM alongside a microSD card reader, extra support for more LTE bands for better connections over the m2, and a 2,870mAh battery over smaller 2,500mAh cell in the m2. The m3 is also slightly thinner than the m2, so all in all, this is a worth upgrade over the m2 and is a nice handset all around for the price.
The Meizu m3 is available starting in China for CNY 599 ($92) for the 2GB/16GB model and CNY 799 ($123) for the 3GB/32GB variant. The phone comes in blue, pink, gold, grey, white, and black and is unclear whether it’ll ever make it to the US. But let’s cross our fingers anyway…
