Last month, LG confirmed it would be delaying the launch of the V50 ThinQ, the company’s first 5G-equipped smartphone, in its home country of Korea until further notice. It wasn’t clear at the time when we might expect the phone to finally launch, but it looks like that day has come.
A new report out of Business Korea confirms that LG will launch the V50 on May 10th in Korea. It’ll go on sale for a price of 1,199,000 won, or around $1,035. That’s considerably less money than Samsung’s first 5G phone, the Galaxy S10 5G, which will retail for $1,299. Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the phone will launch in the US, but we expect it to land before fall hits.
The LG V50 ThinQ comes with a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ OLED display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, three rear cameras, dual front-facing cameras, Android Pie, stereo speakers, a fingerprint scanner, a 4,00mAh battery, wireless charging, and 5G connectivity.
