Last year, Google’s Pixel 2 XL suffered from some serious issues with its display. LG’s screen division supplied the panels but didn’t manage to deliver a product that sat well with reviewers. Now, it looks like the companies are gonna take another swing at things as a new report out of Digital Daily claims LG will supply Google with more OLED panels for the upcoming Pixel 3 XL.
While details are scarce, the report does mention the fact the displays will have notches. This falls in line with a recent leak that depicted screen protectors supposedly designed for the upcoming Pixel 3 and 3 XL. In the image, it was clear the XL model would have a notch, and now we have further proof this might be the direction Google is taking with its larger device.
As is the case with a lot of these rumors, we can’t really say for certain any of this is true. We don’t typically hear from Digital Daily often nor is it close tot eh time when Google will likely debut the Pixel 3. Therefore, we’ll need to take today’s report with a grain of salt. That being said, the next-generation Pixels are shaping up to be some pretty interesting handsets so it should exciting to see what else gets shared about them before they debut this fall.
