Today, Lenovo is announcing a slew of new ThinkPad laptops, and one of them is the new seventh-generation X1 Carbon. The laptop doesn’t differ too much from the previous X1 Carbon, but it does offer some nice spec bumps for those looking to buy the machine.
Specifically, Lenovo is bringing Intel’s 10th-generation processors to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Now, you can configure the laptop with up to a six-core 10th-gen Core i7 chip. To pair with the new processors, Lenovo also throws in up to 16GB of RAM, up to 2TB of SSD storage, and a 51Wh battery that’s rated to last up to 18.5 hours on a single charge.
Other than these changes, the X1 Carbon stays relatively the same as before. You still get a 14-inch display with either a Full HD, Quad HD, or 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, and up to 500 nits of brightness. The laptop is made of lightweight carbon fiber and ships with a backlit keyboard and a pretty sizeable trackpad. It also gets two USB 3.1 ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a headphone jack, an HDMI port, Dolby Atmos speakers, Wi-Fi 6, facial recognition, and a fingerprint reader.
Lenovo will charge $1,479 for the new X1 Carbon when it launches in September.
