Lenovo Unveils New Budget C340 and S340 Chromebooks

Ahead of IFA 2019, Lenovo has debuted a couple of new Chromebooks that target the low-end laptop market. The two new machines go by the names of C340 and S340, with the former offering a 360-degree hinge.

The Chromebook C340 comes in both an 11-inch and 15-inch size. The 11-inch has an HD resolution, while the 15-inch has a Full HD resolution. Both are equipped with 360-degree hinges and Chrome OS.

Under the hood, the 11-inch C340 ships with an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and up to 10 hours of battery life. Meanwhile, the larger 15-inch model gets a proper Intel Core i3 U-series processor and up to 128GB of storage. For ports, both models share an array of USB-C, USB-A, headphone, and SD card slots.

Then there’s the Chromebook S340. This laptop doesn’t come with a 360-degree hinge, but it does offer a traditional laptop form factor for those looking for something a bit more basic.

The S340 comes with a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen, an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and up to 10 hours of battery life. It ships with a couple of USB-C ports, a couple of USB-A ports, a microSD card reader, and a headphone jack. The S340 is by no means a high-end Chromebook, but it should get the job done for most people.

The C340 11-inch starts at $289.99 and will begin shipping in September. Meanwhile, the 15-inch model will start shipping in October and begin at $429.99. The S340 costs $249.99 and will launch next month.
