JBL has officially listed its new Link View smart display powered by the Google Assistant for pre-order at $249. Ths comes after Lenovo launched its Smart Display late last month, marking the first Assistant-powered smart screen to hit the market.
For the $249, you’re getting a pretty nice package. The Link View comes with an 8-inch touchscreen on the front and runs the same software as the Lenovo Smart Display, emulating the same type of user experience. Where the device improves upon is audio where JBL is using some of its finest audio techniques to date with dual 10-watt 51mm drivers. Of course, only real-world testing will determine just how much better the speakers are over competing ones, but at least on paper, they should be pretty fire.
In addition, there’s a 5MP camera for Duo calls and physical sliders to hide the camera and turn off the microphones. The body of the device is also IPX4 splash-proof.
You can preorder your own Link View here. It’ll start shipping on September 3rd.
