Instagram Users Will Soon Be Able to Zoom in on Photos on Android

Just two days ago, Instagram announced they were rolling out a feature to iOS users which allowed them to zoom in on photos and videos found within the app. At that time, it appeared that Android users were left out in the cold, however it now appears that beta testers of the app on Google’s mobile OS are now able to take advantage of the feature.

We received the feature ourselves at MBEDDED on two devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. For your convenience, we took a video of a demonstration of zoom in Instagram for Android.

At this time, only beta users of Instagram are seeing this feature pop up, so if you wanna jump in on the bandwagon and start zooming in on photos and videos on the social network, opt in to receive beta builds of Instagram for Android by joining the beta program found at the end of the Instagram listing in the Play Store. You’ll have to do this on your device, however once you’re done that, just update Instagram and zoom away.

Regular users of Instagram for Android should start seeing the feature eventually, however we don’t know when that time will be. For now, only users of the beta app can zoom.
