We’ve seen a lot of updates regarding Instagram in the past few weeks, with bookmarks, live video, comment liking, and disappearing photos and videos all launching just recently. Now, the social giant is back at it again with Instagram v10.3, and inside packs more additions to Stories that makes the app resemble Snapchat more than ever before.
For starters, you can now use stickers in moments you take a picture or record a video of and upload to your Story. Exclusive packs are available depending on the time of year, so since it’s the holidays, Instagram is launching the feature with Christmas-themed stickers and tools. Snapchat’s had this feature for a little while now, but since Instagram is obviously trying to be a leading competitor, it only makes sense for the function to arrive on the latter’s platform eventually.
Next, there’s now an option in Instagram to record a Story hands-free, meaning you don’t have to tap and hold the record button. You also can now use as much text over your Stories as you want rather only one field.
Finally, exclusively for iOS users (for now), you can download your entire Story at the end of the day so you don’t lose any pictures or videos. Again, Snapchat already had this function, so why not build it into Instagram?
All of this functionality is now rolling out as a part of Instagram 10.3 which can be download from the App Store and Google Play.
