How-To: Get 3 Months of Reddit Gold for Free

Reddit just launched their official iOS and Android apps today, and to celebrate, the social networking site is giving old and new users three months of Reddit Gold, their premium service that includes many security and added features not found in the free version of the service, for totally free. There are a few steps you need to take in order to activate this, so let’s get started!

  1. Visit either the App Store or Google Play on your device depending on your OS.
  2. Search for “reddit the official app“. I’d say just search for “reddit“, however since the app just came out, it hasn’t had any time to properly index yet along with the fact that it hasn’t gotten many downloads yet, so, as of now, you need to be pretty specific with your search in order to find the correct app.
  3. Tap the top result. It should look something like this: Screenshot_2016-04-07-11-21-08 2
  4. On the next page, tap “Install” or “Get” if you’re on iOS.
  5. Once the app is installed, tap “Open”.
  6. When Reddit opens, log in to the service with your username and password.
  7. Once that’s done, you should receive a message in your Inbox saying that you now have three months free of Reddit Gold. It should look something like this: Screen Shot 2016-04-07 at 11.36.57 AM

I need to warn you that this offer is only valid for the next week, or what Reddit’s calling “launch week”, so on April 14th, you won’t be able to get three months of Reddit Gold for free anymore and this trick will be invalid.
