Holy Smokes, Batman! Original Cast Returns for Animated Film Starring Adam West

Holy flashback, Batman!

Yes, it’s true: the original Batman TV show cast is returning once again to reprise their roles as their appropriate characters for an upcoming animated flick starring Batman and gang themselves. Adam West, better known as the original Caped Crusader, will be returning to voice The Dark Knight alongside his fellow cast mates in the soon-to-be-released movie Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

Burt Ward, the original Robin, will be appearing in the film voicing one of the best sidekicks ever, while Julie Newmar, better known as the first Catwoman, will also reprise her role and star in the animated flick. Plus, according to Entertainment Weekly, older villains like the Joker, Penguin, and even Riddler may also be featured in the film, however that information isn’t confirmed yet.

If the movie is anything like the below trailer, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will reflect the wholesomeness of the original Batman series by incorporating family-friendly action, do-or-die sequences, and probably some “POW!”s and “BOOM!”s here and there. All in all, this movie (at least to me) looks a lot better than something such as The Killing Joke which, by the way, is rated R.

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will go on Blu-Ray starting November 1st and be available to stream and download October 11th.
