Google’s YouTube TV is Now Available on Amazon Fire TV

Google and Amazon have, historically, been at odds, to put things lightly. But in recent months, both companies have managed to reconcile with each other, with YouTube finally making its way to Amazon devices and Google Chromecast going up for sale on Amazon.com.

Today, even more evidence that the two corporate conglomerates are getting along has surfaced. In a blog post, Amazon and Google have announced that YouTube TV is now available on Fire TV devices. The app works just like it does on other devices and will let you watch over 70+ live TV channels.

What devices are supported?

According to Amazon, the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen); Fire TV Stick 4K; the “all-new” Fire TV Cube; all Toshiba, Insignia, Element, and Westinghouse Fire TV Edition smart TVs; and previous-gen Fire TV devices like the Fire TV Cube (1st Gen), Fire TV (2nd Gen), and Fire TV (3rd Gen — Pendant Design) are all compatible with YouTube TV. Notably, the first-gen Fire TV and Fire TV Stick have been left out of today’s rollout.
