Last year’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL leaked out extensively before officially debuting at Google’s New York event. With the company’s upcoming Pixel 3 Lite and 3 Lite XL, it looks like we’ll be singing a similar tune as a new video uploaded to YouTube gives us a detailed look at the smaller Pixel 3 Lite.
In the video, we get a look at a pre-production version of the Pixel 3 Lite from all angles and are able to make out the plastic build, two-tone appearance on the back, the USB-C port on the bottom flanked by speaker grilles, the headphone jack on the top, and thicker bezels surrounding the 5.56-inch 2160×1080 LCD display. Under the hood, the Pixel 3 Lite is said to come with a Snapdragon 670 processor, Adreno 615 graphics, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 2,915mAh. It’ll obviously run Android 9 Pie.
One point of interest when it comes to any Google Pixel phone is the camera, and the Pixel 3 Lite likely won’t disappoint. In the video, claims are made that photos taken with the Pixel 3 Lite’s 12.2MP f/1.8 camera are identical to those captured with the standard Pixel 3. Of course, since there’s no mention of the Pixel Visual Core chipset and the fact the device runs on a lower-end processor, we can’t expect purely identical results from the camera when compared to the flagship Pixel 3. However, if Google uses the same camera tech as its flagships, we can expect promising results when this thing hits the market.
Meanwhile, there’s just one selfie cmaera on the Pixel 3 Lite compared to the two that are on the regular Pixel 3. It still weighs in at 8MP so expect similar results to its higher-end cousins in this regard.
Since Google has never released a Lite Pixel before, we don’t know when they plan to release it. However, with leaks like these occurring regularly, it’s likely we don’t have much more time to wait.
