Google’s MODE Watch Bands Make Swapping Straps on Android Wear Devices Nice ‘n’ Simple

Google has released a new way of changing the band on your Android Wear device. The new straps, dubbed MODE, allow a simple flick of a switch to change your band to whatever you may want, whether it’s silicone or even leather.

By flicking this switch, the pins connecting the band to the lug of the watch will come loose, allowing you to pull of the strap and grab a new one. Then, once the lug and the new band are aligned, simply flick the same switch to secure the pins and you’re good to go. Watches supported with these new bands include the ZenWatch (both first and second generation), the Fossil Q, the Huawei Watch, the LG Watch Urbane, the LG G Watch, the G Watch R, the Moto (second generation), and the Samsung Gear Live.

MODE watch bands are available from the Google Store priced at $50 for silicone and $60 for leather. For a few cents more, you can grab the bands at Best Buy, while Amazon is reselling the straps for the same price as Google.
