Google’s Android Nougat Unveiling Video Confirms 7.0 Version Number

In a video published to Google’s official Android YouTube channel, the company unveiled to the world the name of the next version of the mobile OS, Android Nougat. However, up until now it wasn’t known whether this update to Android would have a version number of 6.1 or 7.0. But in this very video, the company has confirmed that Android Nougat will be version 7.0 of the operating system.

(Skip to around 0:45 and you’ll see the picture with the new statue alongside the version number.)

Of course, you may think this is a typo, and while that’s not likely, we can confirm that speculation can be shut down as this is also the same version number found in the description of the video.

So unless they really have some guy who just can’t type right working on this video, I think it’s safe to say version 7.0 is the number of Android Nougat.
