Google Releases June Security Patch for Pixel and Nexus Devices

Google has released the June 2018 security patch for Pixel and Nexus-branded smartphones and tablets. Those who have a Pixel or Pixel 2, a Nexus 6P or 5X, or a Pixel C tablet can expect the added security in the coming days.

In total, Google has released 58 different fixes between two security patch levels, according to its monthly bulletin. Those two levels are named 2018-06-01 and 2018-06-05. AS is the case with many a security patch, the most severe fix featured in this month’s patch involves the media framework within Android.

Users of Google-branded devices can expect the update to hit within the next few days. If you’re impatient, you can flash the factory images here and OTA images here.

Users of other OEMs’ devices can expect to receive the patch in the next few weeks.
