The 2018 Pixel 3 and 3 XL were decent phones, but they were pegged by performance issues that seemed completely unnecessary, especially since the phones came directly from Google wh has complete control over how the hardware interacts with the software. Luckily, things are looking pretty positive in terms of the upcoming Pixel 4 and 4 XL as rumors point to the devices offering more RAM to, hopefully, iron out any speed problems this time around.
According to a report out of BGR, the Pixel 4 and 4 XL will both come with 6GB of RAM. This is opposed to the Pixel 3 line’s measly 4GB of memory that wasn’t nearly enough to keep apps from crashing in the background. With 6GB, Google should have enough headroom to at least provide a useable experience with its next-gen Pixels. Personally, I think the company should just jump to 8GB and call it a day, but I guess they have to save something for 2020.
BGR‘s report also suggests the Pixel 4 will come with a larger display than the Pixel 3 with a resolution of 2280×1080. Meanwhile, the Pixel 4 XL will opt for a larger display when compared to the Pixel 3 XL with a resolution of 3040×1440.
If history is any indication, we’ll hear plenty more about the new Pixel line before it’s released later this year. Stay tuned.
