Back in March, Google originally announced it would begin rolling out a dark mode for its iOS and Android apps, fulfilling an item on many a users’ wishlist. At that time, however, only those on iOS were getting the new feature. But now that it’s been over four months since the update debuted, those on Android are finally beginning to spot the change.
Many publications around the web, including 9to5Google, are beginning to spot dark mode availability in YouTube for Android. Here at the office, we aren’t seeing the update on any of our devices, but a wider rollout will likely occur in the near future.
If you’d like to check and see if you have dark mode for YouTube, go to your app’s settings, then “General.” From there, you should see a new “Dark mode” option you can toggle on and off. We’ll let you know when we see the upgrade on our end.
