Google is Bringing OnePlus-Like Customization to Android Q

With OnePlus’ OxygenOS, you can customize everything from the system theme to the accent color to the font. With Android Q, Google looks to bring over some of those very features.

In the first build of Q, Google includes a small section at the very bottom of developer settings that allows you to customize the accent color, icon shape, and font. There aren’t very many options, with just four different accents colors available and two font packs. You also only get four different icon shapes. Still, it’s a step in the right direction if you’ve been begging for an ultra-customizable Android phone straight from Google.

Of course, despite there only being so many options available now, things can change significantly. The final version of Android Q won’t roll out until this summer, so there’s plenty of time for things to change and improve. Stay tuned, folks.
