Following today’s launch of the Pixel and Pixel XL, Google has officially launched preorders for their VR headset and new multimedia streaming plug-in respectively known as the Daydream View and Chromecast Ultra. Both products are available from Google’s online store, while the former is also available from Verizon.
The Daydream View costs $79 and is currently available in the Slate color option. In case you didn’t hear, this VR headset accompanies the new Pixel phones and any other Daydream-compatible handset on the market. It’s made of comfortable materials and is designed to wear for extensive periods of time. 2-3 weeks is the estimated shipping time from Google themselves, while Verizon says yours will ship by November 16th.
Regarding the new Chromecast Ultra, this $69 variant of the ever-so-popular Chromecast features the same HDMI plug-in IO and supports 4K output and HDR content. In addition, it can be controlled via an app on your phone (Android or iOS) or tablet. There’s also an Ethernet port for a more stable internet connection. Google says this device will also ship in 2-3 weeks, so it looks like you’ll have some time to wait before you can get your hands on either the Daydream View or Chromecast Ultra if ordered from Google directly.
