According to a report released by a site called Birth. Movies. Death., the next villain to face the web slinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming will be flight harness-inventor Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. The Vulture. The site claims that this character will be in the film for sure, however it’s still unclear whether he’ll play the main bad guy or not as it’s possible there will be multiple. This isn’t really ideal for the first movie since Spidey’s move to the MCU, however Marvel and Sony may have something good up their sleeves, so we’ll have to wait and see.
In addition, Variety is reporting that both Sony and Marvel want Michael Keaton, a former Batman star, to play Toomes. And while the site doesn’t confirm who Keaton would be playing in the film, we think he’d be perfect for the role of The Vulture, what with him being in the Oscar-winning movie Birdman and all. Plus, since he’s 64, he’s just slightly younger than Toomes was in the comics. But once again, we’re gonna have to wait and see what the studios decide to do.
