A new report by Variety has stated that Robert Downy Jr. (a.k.a. Iron Man) will appear in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Homecoming. This comes just two weeks until Tony Stark and the web slinger appear side-by-side in the movie Captain America: Civil War.
Variety states that after Marvel and Sony executives saw the type of chemistry between the two characters in Civil War, they “had to work hard to get these two back together” in Spider-Man’s solo film. We kind of already knew Iron Man would appear in the upcoming film since the same time Homecoming was announced a clip of footage was shown at a conference featuring Tony Stark speaking with Peter Parker’s Aunt May. However, it’s nice to have an official confirmation.
With Tom Holland’s performance as Spider-Man being as praised as it is and Downey Jr. being as great as he is as Iron Man, Homecoming is gonna be a heck of a film.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will debut in theaters on July 7th, 2017, be directed by Jon Watts, and star Tom Holland as the web slinger, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Marisa Tomei, and Zendaya.
