CES 2016: Samsung’s New Galaxy TabPro S Features an Intel Core M Processor and Full Windows 10

At CES 2016 yesterday, Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy TabPro S, a 6.3mm thin, 693 gram, 12-inch Super AMOLED 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid running Windows 10. To be clear, that’s full desktop Windows 10, not mobile or tablet-optimized. Full Windows 10. Plus, it includes a full-sized keyboard, so the fact that you don’t have to go out and buy it separately is very appealing. I know of a certain Microsoft tablet that you have to go and buy a keyboard for because they don’t give it to you in the box for some reason… I won’t point any fingers but… I’m looking at you, Surface.

There’s a lot to get excited about in this tablet, like the fact that it’s a Galaxy tablet running Windows. That along should get you and your wallet revved up for a purchase of one of these puppies.

“Galaxy TabPro S balances the best of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab with the wealth of features on the Windows 10 operating system for the most advanced tablet experience on the market,” said Dongjin Ko, President and Head of Mobile Communication Business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re thrilled to be working with Microsoft Corp. to deliver a 2-in-1 tablet that truly allows people to enjoy productivity and connections that matter most, through a seamless mobile station designed for all purposes.”

The Galaxy TabPro S is designed to be able to carry around all day long. To enhance productivity, a multi-port adapter (HDMI, USB Type A & C) and Bluetooth Pen are available for purchase separately. Personally, I’d pick up the pen with this tablet for ultimate productivity.

Resale of this laptop/tablet will begin in February and will be eligible for pickup at Microsoft.com and select Microsoft stores across the U.S, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Of course, there’s a pretty good chance it’ll be available at other retailers, too.

As of pricing, there hasn’t been a confirmed amount yet, but it’ll most likely be pretty high considering the functionality and specs of the Galaxy TabPro S along with the fact that it comes with a keyboard.
