CES 2016: ICYMI, Android Marshmallow for BlackBerry Priv to Arrive Late in Q1 2016

In case you missed it, during a CES 2016 presentation on Wednesday, BlackBerry executive Ron Louks announced that Android Marshmallow for the BlackBerry Priv, the company’s first smartphone to run Android, will be released some time later in the first quarter of this year. However Priv owners want Marshmallow on their smartphones really soon, it looks like they’re gonna have to wait a little longer for it to arrive. The announcement didn’t list a lot of details about the software upgrade, but a second announcement is expected to arrive about Marshmallow for the Priv a few days before the initial launch.

Louks also spoke about new third-party accessories made for the Priv during the presentation, stating that there would be more news on them sometime in the next few weeks. Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain in late February might be the time and place where that news will be shared with the world, but of course, that’s just a hypothesis for now.
